This kayak is 26" wide and has an excellent length (22 feet) to width ratio for great speed and ease of paddling. We've used this kayak on rivers and lakes and have enjoyed it greatly, but my father, the owner, is getting older (mid 70's), and it's harder for him to get into since it's a little narrower than some kayaks. This has very good primary stability and excellent secondary stability. It would make a great kayak to take on any body of water, and is very safe for the Great Lakes or even on the ocean, if you plan to go there! Due to its short length, you can even store this boat indoors as it will easily stand on end provided your ceilings are of normal height. This boat would make an excellent fishing kayak due to its small size.
