Selling both my kayaks as I need room in my basement for woodworking projects. I have had these kayaks outside on the ground for about a month hence the pictures. I am selling both these kayaks as a set as I don't want either of them outside long. The
2007 Riot Excursion kayak is the red 17' kayak and I have also purchased kayak fishing rod holders and mounted them on the back side of the kayak behind the seat (I am a ocean fisherman who likes to get close to rocks). This is the prefect boat for expeditions for a weekend getaway cruising through 3 foot white cap rollers or a week/week-in-a-half in the Canadian lakes. This boat has proven herself in both. Most stable boat I've ever owned and takes heavy chop very, very well. The "navigator" rudder system is origninal to the boat and works well in heavy swells, otherwise it is almost never needed as it tracks very well. You will never outgrow this boat and that is the reason I purchased her new. The material is rotomolded plactic and is extremely durable.

I purchased this boat used about a year ago thinking I was going to have the wife use it and when she is not paddling with me at the cape, etc., I can use it on the calm back waters and bays to fish sea bass at high tides in the basins...well that never happened and now I have this boat, as well. Again, no place to store these outside or inside with my woodworking remodeling projects...I know that selling both of my boats forces me to fish from the shore again but for as many times as I get out to fish, selling these may be my better option.

All Heritage kayaks can be repaired, an attribute not shared by all plastics, but important if somehow you do manage to seriously damage your boat. Boat 2: Wilderness Systems Sealoution II. This is also an expedition-worthy kayak. Somewhat smaller beam and cockpit volume. Has spray skirt, two hatches, rudder, padded seat back. Hull currently has an oil can dent beneath the seat which will require a bit of effort to re-form. It doesn't cause any problems for operation (my wife has used it as-is), but it will impact the tracking if you were to do anything more advanced. Basic Repair Techniques
Many people wonder "Can I fix a dent in my kayak?"
Occasionally kayaks of all types will develop indentations in their hulls - these indentations are sometimes referred to as "oil canning", because they tend to pop in and pop out under pressure -- similar to an oil can. Typically these indentations are due to improper storage or transport. Things like storing a boat flat on its hull or tying it on a car rack so that another boat or the rack itself pushes against the hull invite such indentations.
To remove a dent, set the boat in the direct HOT sun for a couple of hours with the dented area exposed. This process should be allowed to proceed for at least two hours. When the hull heats up, it usually reforms itself, but you may have to get creative with some weights or braces inside the boat to push the dents back out. Another method is to use your hands to push from the sides of the indentation to allow the center of the dent to pop back into shape. In the absence of HOT sun another way to remove a dent is to use a heat gun, hair dryer or HOT water to heat the dented area.
Be careful to only heat the plastic to a soft state without burning or melting it. This will allow you to push the dent out and the hull should retain its original shape. The above methods can also be applied to dents in the side or chine of the kayak. These are often noticed after the boat is removed from vertical transport on a roof rack.
To prevent such dents in the future, be sure to store your boat either vertically, or on its side -- never flat on the hull -- and to be mindful of the hull during transportation.
